Growing up in a military family where three of my four siblings attended the US Military Academy and my father had a 25 year career in the Army, I have always appreciated the great sacrifice that men and women and military families undergo to keep our country safe and free. The opportunities for an education and training are endless in our US military. Every branch of the military provides its own unique training opportunities and career advancement. There are also private organizations that encourage young adults to pursue the military field. Freedom Alliance Military Academy provides a summer program for high school students interested in pursing a military career. There they learn leadership skills, self-confidence, and the ins and outs of military life. Even though there have been cuts from the military if you are interested in serving our country pursue this passion by talking to a local recruiter, or by networking with active duty personnel, applying for ROTC scholarships, or asking a career counselor for help. Thanks Dad, Jim, Kev, Beth, Josh, Evan, Mike, Sarah, Uncle Rick, Patrick, Pete, Dan- and for all Veterans today! Happy Veterans' Day!
